Proclamation congratulating Glenn Smith for being recognized at the 22nd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Breakfast.

WHEREAS, on Monday, January 17, 2022, the 22nd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Breakfast will take place at La Roche University; and
WHEREAS, this year, longtime North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO) volunteer, Glenn Smith will be honored and recognized for his commitment and dedication to the community; and
WHEREAS, a NHCO volunteer for several years, Glenn Smith is undoubtedly dedicated to NHCO’s mission and vision; and
WHEREAS, every year, Glenn donates hundreds of volunteer hours to NHCO; and
WHEREAS, early into the pandemic, Glenn saw a news story about someone making desks for students who are remote learning; and
WHEREAS, partnering with NHCO and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Glenn, along with 39 financial donors and 32 volunteers, built desks for students across the community; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we, Allegheny County Council Members Cindy Kirk, Anita Prizio, and Jack Betkowski, do hereby congratulate Glenn Smith for being recognized at the 22nd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Breakfast. His dedication to serving the community is commendable and serves as an inspiration to the members of this Council and all the residents of Allegheny County.
