An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing the continued use of Allegheny County-owned real property in South Park by Allegheny County Budo-kai as venue for martial arts instruction and activities.

Whereas Allegheny County is the owner of 2,013 acres of real property known as South Park (Allegheny County Real Estate Parcel 412-L-300), one of the County’s nine regional parks; and
Whereas, Since 1986, Allegheny County Budo-kai, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, has had exclusive use of a structure on Brownsville Road in the County’s South Park known as Fairgrounds Building # 5 for martial arts instruction and activities; and
Whereas, Allegheny County Budo-kai offers individuals of all ages, ability and skill level, the opportunity to participate in Jiu-jitsu, Karate, and Okinawan Kobudo instruction; and
Whereas, Allegheny County Budo-kai wishes to continue to use the structure for the purpose described herein without interruption; and
Whereas, County Council believes that permitting Allegheny County Budo-kai to continue to use the designated structures in the County’s South Park for these activities will inure to the benefit of the citizens of Allegheny County; and
Whereas, Article IV, Section 2(k) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests County Council with the power and duty by ordinance to lease or permit the use of County real property.
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
SECTION 1. Incorporation of the Preamble.
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.
SECTION 2. Authorization to permit the use of County Real Property
